Slime Care
When the weather is hot:
Slime melts under hotter temperatures, while we overactivated slimes and do what we can to try and counteract this before sending your products out, it can be difficult to gauge how much they will melt in transit.
When you receive your slimes in the warmer months of the year, it's best to put them in the refrigerator for one hour. Afterward, do a poke test to see if they're sticky. If you find they still have a tack to them, feel free to add activator until they're at your desired texture.
How to make activator and combat sticky slime:
Included in your packet is a small baggie of borax, add the borax powder to 1/2 cup of warm water and mix until dissolved. From there, add the activator one or 2 drops at a time to your slimes and mix/kneed until you're satisfied.
Warning: if you add too much activator at once, your slime may become over activated and you will need to follow the instructions in the over activated slime guide written below. DO NOT add the borax powder directly to your slime, this will ruin it past the point of recovery.
What to do when your slime is over activated:
There are a few simple things you can try when your slime gets over activated. You can add vegetable glycerin one drop at a time and knead the slime until it is back to the texture you prefer. You can also leave the slime in a warm place, or on a window sill and wait a few days before trying to play with it again.
Basics:
Always wash your hands before and after playing with slime. This will help to extend the life of your slime.
Always play with slime on a clean surface, and don't allow it to touch porous materials such as untreated wood, fabric, or hair.
Keep activator on hand when playing with slime, and add it to your hands as necessary to help prevent tackiness. Contact solution with a borax compound in it will also work great for this.
If you're an individual with warmer hands, you may need to activate slimes further to prevent stickiness.
Try not to play with your slimes for more than 10-15 minutes at a time, at least 12 hours apart. I know this can be difficult, but as this is a product made with glue, it will start to dry out and your slime will expire faster.
Be sure to keep the lid closed tight between play sessions so it doesn't dry out.
